We had an incredible time in the store-warming party of DORIS | Design Corner.

The space came alive again with the presence of so many wonderful people — artists from our artist program, neighbors, old friends, and new friends who quickly felt like part of the family.

We opened our new exhibition*, which is the kickstarter for our rotating exhibitions program. The atmosphere was full of energy, laughter, conversation, and creative exchange — everything we love about DORIS. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special event. We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to welcome you back soon!

THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE

SOLO EXHIBITION DOR BLAYER | Opening 23 May 2025

In this solo exhibition, artist Dor Blayer presents a series of woodcarving works. Originally intended as printing blocks, the carved wood panels themselves are brought to the forefront, shifting the focus from the print to the printmaker.

By doing so, Blayer emphasizes the materiality of the wood and the physical labor embedded in each piece—where the medium becomes the message. Through his carvings, he weaves a narrative of migration, displacement, constant search, and questions of identity.

The exhibition is viewable 24/7 through the DORIS windows, inviting passersby to engage with the work at any time.
